Although aware of the intense competition from the world’s top riders, Hakim remains unfazed by the pressure and views this opportunity as a valuable experience to further develop his talent at the highest level of racing.

🇬🇧 “Honestly, I’m really touched by how the first day went. I could see so many spectators in the grandstand, and the trackside was packed too. That really gave me extra motivation, especially racing on home ground. In terms of challenges, of course it’s very different. In the World Championship, all the riders are incredibly fast and much more consistent. The bike is also different more sensitive and technical. But Alhamdulillah, for the first day, I didn’t expect to achieve this kind of result. I just kept trying to push and improve myself in every session. I really enjoyed riding the Moto3 machine here at Sepang. I focused a lot on my riding style, improving my braking points, and how I open the throttle when exiting corners.
On the technical side, the team made a few adjustments to improve the bike’s stability. As for the crew, they’re the same people from the JuniorGP who came to Malaysia to support me here at Sepang. So, in terms of communication and setup, everything went smoothly because they already understand my needs. From here, I’ll be focusing on my race pace and physical endurance for tomorrow’s race simulation. I’m not thinking too much about the starting grid. Tomorrow, I just want to go full gas and give my best in Q2 to see where I end up.
For this week, the weather has been quite unpredictable. It almost rained during practice earlier. But either way, I’m ready for both wet and dry conditions. If possible, I prefer dry weather because I can push harder on the track.”

🇬🇧 “Honestly, I was quite nervous today for Hakim’s debut in the World Championship. But with the thorough preparation we’ve done since the beginning of the year, we could see Hakim entering FP1 ready to compete with the other riders. I’m really pleased that he managed everything so well. Of course, there are still two more days qualifying and race but for now, he has already exceeded our expectations.
Yes, there have been many changes made to the bike setup since the test sessions leading up to this race. With the help of the MT team who came to analyse the data, we saw Hakim improve by 0.8 seconds compared to the previous test with the new settings. His pace today during FP2 was also very good, and he successfully qualified straight into Q2. This is an excellent first experience and, to me, anything beyond this is a bonus. That’s the importance of having a strong team behind us the MT team.
They constantly share the latest data and information about the bike and the new setups. At the same time, observing the performance of other riders also provides valuable insight for Hakim. Of course, every rider is different in terms of ability and setup, but we can see that Hakim is capable of adapting to whatever setup is given.
Last night, we stayed until 8pm analysing all the data from Hakim’s test sessions. During the previous tests, not many setup changes were made it was more about his riding style and understanding the bike. But once the full team arrived, they contributed significantly in helping us find those final tenths of a second to improve Hakim’s overall performance.”
