🇬🇧 Circuito de Navarra, Spain | 20 July 2025 – The race week of the ESBK Talent category in the España Superbike Championship saw an impressive performance from Qabil Irfan. At the start of the week, Qabil finished Free Practice 3 in third place with a time gap of +0.510 seconds, while in Free Practice 4 he placed fourth, just +0.424 seconds behind the leader.
In the qualifying session, Qabil and his team executed a well-thought-out strategy, opting not to join the main group of riders during the session. As a result, Qabil recorded the second-fastest qualifying time, just +0.213 seconds off the top spot.
Race 1
Race 1 featured intense competition, with nine riders battling at the front from the very beginning. Qabil got off to a strong start, leading in the early laps before being overtaken and settling into fourth position by the second lap.
The race, held at 1:00 PM local time in Navarra, took place under the scorching Spanish summer heat, which posed a challenge for tyre performance. However, with smart strategy and calculated moves, Qabil maintained his position before launching a brilliant charge on the final lap, overtaking his rivals one by one to claim victory in Race 1.
Qabil also clocked the fastest lap time in the ESBK Talent category with an impressive 1:56.004, beating the qualifying benchmark set by Spanish rider Marco Holt, who recorded a time of 1:56.783.
Race 2
Race 2 proved to be a more challenging affair, with five front-running riders locked in a fierce battle from the start. Qabil began confidently, leading in the early laps before facing relentless pressure from his competitors.
Midway through the race, Qabil launched aggressive overtakes to briefly regain the lead. He nearly broke away from the pack, but the chasing group managed to close the gap and overtake him again, placing Qabil in fourth going into the final laps. As he attempted a late push for a podium finish, he was strongly challenged and blocked by other riders right up to the chequered flag. Qabil eventually finished fourth, collecting valuable championship points.
Qabil now leads the overall standings with 173 points, holding a 49-point advantage over second-placed Izan Rodriguez of Spain. His next race will be in the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Series, taking place this coming weekend at the Tangkak Racing Circuit in Johor.

🇬🇧 “Race 1 i managed to get the hole shot and led on the first lap. A few riders overtook me after that, and I chose to stay behind as my strategy was to make my move on the final lap.
On the last lap, I stayed fully focused as I was in fourth position. I overtook the riders one by one, and although I was challenged at the final corner, I remained calm and focused to take the win.
“Race 2 started off quite well, but it was difficult to move to the front as the competition from the other riders was very intense. I tried to attack early and managed to lead for a few laps before being overtaken again. It was definitely a very tough and hard-fought race for me.”
